If you haven’t heard of them yet, definitely check out the Environmental Working Group (EWG). They do tons of hard work to research the safety of foods and other products, so consumers like you and I can determine whether there are toxins in fish we are eating. Right now, they have a new “Consumer Guide to Seafood,” where you can enter some basic information about yourself and receive a customized list of the safest, healthiest, most sustainable fish and shellfish for you. It takes into consideration mercury levels, omega 3 levels, and where the most sustainable harvesting occurs. Try it here.
